Recently, Community Pride was named as a West Shore Aware grant recipient for 2025! This highly appreciated recognition represents the work we've been putting in to change our community, specifically in:
• Supporting community leaders and organizations that work to eliminate long-standing barriers to equal access, opportunities and resources for all people,
• Expanding and deepening the level of engagement among all people including people who are economically, racially, socially, geographically, or politically disenfranchised or threatened, and
• Harnessing our fundraising and advocacy efforts to address the causes of discrimination impacting all marginalized people.

About Aware
West Shore Aware is a philanthropic organization of gay men and women and their allies living in Saugatuck/Douglas and the greater West Lakeshore community. The organization is dedicated to increasing the positive influence and public awareness of the contribution that gay men and women make to the community in which they belong.
The main mission of West Shore Aware is to raise funds for local 501c3 charities and organizations within the greater West Lakeshore community, accomplished by hosting a local fundraising event each year, through contributions from Aware membership, and from citizens of the community. Aware embraces all those within the community, who are friends to and support the gay and lesbian men and women of the area.
Since 2003, Aware's fundraising events, including the annual gala, have enabled West Shore Aware to donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities and organizations.
